#1 Joshua Roberts - February 18, 2017 - Manassas, Virginia

This was my first roll shot in the 520 Project. I've known Josh for about 22 years now. He is a close friend and photographer. So it was natural to start off the project asking him to sit for me. Josh lives near Capitol Hill in Washington, DC and is a freelance photographer. He often photographs at the White House and on Capitol Hill photographing for numerous publications and organizations. He has an impressive body of work. Give a look at his site here

One of the first things I noticed when doing this shoot is how incredibly fast those ten frames seemed to go by. With digital photography -  I'm just getting started by the tenth frame.  Josh was also making photos of me while I was photographing him, and since I had the only light meter Josh kept asking to borrow my meter which hung around my neck during the shoot, which threw off my rhythm a bit. So I immediately forgot how I had just posed him. With digital I could just shoot another frame or go back and quickly review what I had just shot. ahh the things I forgot about shooting film.
